What is a u-value?
The U-value of a product measures how effective its insulation properties are. The lower the U-value, the better the insulation. As a guide, a standard double-glazed window typically has a U-value of 2.8 W/m². Our super insulating units achieve a U-value of 1 W/m².
Are bifold doors secure?
As a major access point to your home, it’s natural to be concerned regarding security, but there’s no need to panic as all of our bifold doors are highly secure! The master door has a multi-point locking mechanism with hook bolts, intermediate doors have bolts to top and bottom.

Sliding vs bifold doors
A question our customers are often faced with is: sliding or bifold doors? Whilst both options provide various different benefits, it really depends on what it is you want to achieve. If you’re seeking a door that opens up to full-width, blurring the boundaries, then bifold doors are ideal.
What is a thermal break?
A thermal break is a material with low thermal conductivity that is placed between two different conductive materials. Its job is to reduce or prevent the flow of thermal energy. In our products, these thermal breaks include resin, silicone and styrofoam, which separate the conductive aluminium components to provide superb thermal insulation.
How do I maintain my PVC-U door?
PVC-U doors are low maintenance and can be kept looking brand new with nothing more than the application of warm soapy water (washing up liquid is suitable) with a lint-free cloth, dried clean with a soft, clean cloth.
We also recommend that you oil moving parts every six months. Please ask your installer for details.
What are PVC-U door panels made from?
PVC-U doors are affordably priced and provide great value for money, especially considering their durability. Their lightweight nature makes them quicker and simpler to install than other doors and PVC-U is also a completely recyclable material.
